This case arose out of a three-party automobile accident occurring on or abut January 8, 1966. The accident occurred at approximately 4:00 p.m. on the Richardson Highway just outside the Fairbanks city limits. It was dark, rendering the visibility poor. The highway was slippery and appeared glassy. Prior to the occurrence of the accident in issue, Butrovich had been following the Breitkreutz vehicle for about a mile proceeding in a northerly direction.
